I am a 66th Generation Disciple of the Tien Shan Pai
Family which is a form of northern Kung Fu.
I started training in martial arts in my teens doing Tae Kwon Do, Judo &
general self defence. In 1998 I decided to concentrate primarily on training
in Kung Fu.
In 2001 I began competing at a national level and by 2004 I was competing
internationally in Shuai Jiao (Chinese wrestling)
and Northern Traditional Kung Fu forms such as; Mantis
Kung Fu, Lo Han Boxing and Little Mayflower.
At competition level, I am probably more well-known for my Traditional
Northern Forms, where I have held National and European titles at
BCCMA
(British Council for Chinese Martial Arts) Competitions and European Kuoshu
Tournaments.
Aside from taking part in Forms the highlight for me, in
competition terms, must be in Shuai Jiao,
where I retired undefeated in the UK in 2005; as well as coming 4th
at a World Tournament held in Italy in the same year.
I am currently training (since 2003) in
Tien Shan Pai under Master Robert Simpson (65th Generation) and
I am a member of
The Chinese
Kuoshu Institute
which is a U.K based Kung Fu organisation. I have also been
practicing
Shuai Jiao for the last 5 years.
In addition to Tien Shan Pai, I have
been lucky enough to train in many other martial arts systems. I
have studied (and am still studying) Corja Shantung Kung Fu (Mantis
style) under the guidance of my instructor Shifu Alim. I have
also taken various judo and karate classes to give myself a
grounding in different disciplines.
Most recently I have qualified as a Personal Trainer and am
currently working freelance; please enquire about how I can help you!
As both a Kung Fu Instructor and Personal Trainer, my main goal is
to help enable people of all walks of life to reach their full
potential.
